Married in October of 2007 Stacie was the quintessential Flirty Bride and used her own wedding as an opportunity to bring to life her vision of what a flirty bride is, and how much fun she should have, both planning her own wedding and at the wedding itself.

A one woman design studio, or as she calls herself, creative consultant, Stacie Tamaki is one busy girl. You can always see the latest she's been up to on her Fun and Flirty Blog.

Whether she's making custom bridal veils, tiaras, jewelry and cake toppers, or creating miniature origami cranes, her imagination knows few boundaries.

Her career in the bridal industry began 11 years ago. Her bridal, origami and custom dog costumes have been featured online and in newspapers, magazines, 4X on San Jose's, KNTV News Channel 11, HGTV , and the TODAY Show.

Our Ken and Barbie, How We Met, Reception Video

Click here to watch the video

One of the things my sweetie really wanted to do was make a funny video to show at our reception.

It was a video in 4 parts. The first part was a recreation of how we met... Using Barbie dolls that looked like us. This was no small feat. Well for him it was easy, he just went to Toys R'Us and got a standard Ken doll. For me it was a lot more work. There aren't a lot of asian Barbie dolls around. After much online searching I finally found one named Kira who is a friend to Barbie. She was the only one with hair similar to my own, long with no bangs. But she was a scuba diving Kira wearing a purple wetsuit which meant I had to find regular clothes for her. Which created a new set of problems.

All in all Barbie is not a frumpy dresser, yet that was what I needed to make our video as realistic as possible. You see when my hubby met me? I looked the worst I've ever looked in public. Each month I would go to a friend's local access tv show taping to be part of his studio audience. I was not on camera so I would arrive in paint stained cargo pants, baggy t-shirts, no lipstick and my hair in a pony tail, usually with a base ball cap. And each month my hubby would ask me out. Each time I turned him down but he kept asking until 5 months later I finally gave him my phone number... Watch the video to see what happened next. LOL. Quite frankly it's amazing that we ever made it to a first date. Thank goodness he persevered, because he is the best thing that's ever happened to me!

Suffice to say our courtship would have been so much easier if I had just drunk coffee.
And if he had been older.
And if he had actually called me once I gave him my number.

LOL

Well the odds were against us but somehow we overcame them and are now very happily married and having a blast!
