Married in October of 2007 Stacie was the quintessential Flirty Bride and used her own wedding as an opportunity to bring to life her vision of what a flirty bride is, and how much fun she should have, both planning her own wedding and at the wedding itself.

Funny Mother of the Bride and Groom Music

Share |

Chalk this one up to my groom.

It was his idea and one that I didn't think would fly. Rather then a more typical music selection for our moms to walk down the aisle to? He wanted the music to be funny. I love fun so I played along.

For his step-mom he chose the School House Rocks classic "Lolly Lolly Lolly get your adverbs here" because, yup you guessed it, her name is Lolly. Poor Lolly wasn't even warned that he had chosen some "special" music just for her.

For my mom? He really wanted her to walk down the aisle to The Fountain's of Wayne hit Stacy's Mom Has Got it Going On. Honestly? I thought no way would my mom ever go for it. But guess what? When he asked her if she would be making a toast she said no because she hates speaking in public, so then he asked her if he could use the song for her to walk to. At that point she felt so bad for saying no to the toast she said yes to the song. LOL I TOLD her the song wasn't appropriate or her style but she said it was ok with her.

When the music started up I could hear our guests cracking up as the vocals of "Lolly Lolly Lolly" floated out into the hallway as Lolly was escorted down the aisle.

Then when Stacy's Mom started playing everyone really busted up laughing. My hubby was thrilled he successfully pulled off his flirty idea and all was right with the world.

Two days later we were at lunch and my mom told me she had finally seen the video to Stacy's Mom starring super model Rachel Hunter. She was MORTIFIED, but still laughing about it. My mom's a really great sport :D

So if you aren't having a formal church or traditional wedding. Have some fun with your music and dare to be different! Who knew the entrance of the MOB and MOG could be entertainment?

One of my best friend's groom did the mother/son dance to "Take Your Momma Out Tonight" by the Scissor Sisters. It was much more fun than a traditional slow dance. :)
